Cabacinha pepper, also known as 7 Molhos, Cabaça or Fidalga, is a Brazilian pepper that belongs to the Capsicum chinense species. The pepper plant can grow up to 1.20 meters tall. When ripe, the Cabacinha acquires a beautiful orange color. On the hotness scale, it reaches 50,000 Scoville points. This pepper is very well-known in the interior of São Paulo and in the south of Minas Gerais. It can be used in sauces and salads and, because of its beautiful color, shape and aroma, it is a beautiful decoration for dishes.
The pepper plant should be grown in full sun or partial shade, in fertile, deep, light soil, enriched with organic matter and irrigated regularly. The pepper plant appreciates weekly fertilization during growth and flowering and biweekly fertilization during fruiting, thus producing even more peppers. It does not tolerate drought, waterlogging, cold or frost.
